Whoopi Goldberg is no stranger to criticizing Donald Trump's policies, but when it comes to the president's children, she draws a line.
The incident made headlines and led to Whoopi Goldberg offering to sit next to Trump, 23, later this week.
But for all her problems with Trump, the actress and "The View" host doesn't think it's right for his younger daughter, Tiffany Trump, to be shunned and mistreated, as Goldberg says she was during at least one event during New York Fashion Week.
"Tiffany, I'm coming to sit with you, because nobody's talking politics", Goldberg said. "She's looking at the fashion!" the co-host said. She immediately tweeted a pic of Trump sitting alone in the sought after seating area and commented, "Nobody wants to sit next to Tiffany Trump at Philipp Plein, so they moved and the seats by her are empty". "This girl is looking at fashion, and she's just looking at fashion".
Others warned Trump not to go on "The View", speculating that Goldberg was trying to "trap" her.
"It's easy to assume from a photograph that she sat there, humiliated, with empty seats by her, which wasn't the case", Binkley says.
Ben Affleck Batman: Who Should Direct The Film Now
Ben Affleck wants to drop out of Warner Bros .' upcoming Batman movie, according to movie industry rumours. Unofficially, anyone looking for signs of Affleck's Bat-fatigue shouldn't have any trouble finding them.
It's hard to blame fashion editors for feeling the need to protect their own brands/careers during these turbulent times, but still, anyone else getting very high school-ish (possibly Mean Girls-esque) vibes from this sitch?
She adds: "But I don't think Tiffany really noticed that, because she was active with her friends and the photographers". Tiffany sat front row between the fashion designer and Reya Benitez, the daughter of DJ legend John "Jellybean" Benitez.
The fashion designer behind the show also spoke out in Tiffany's defense.
"I'm not a politician..."
Trump responded to Goldberg on Wednesday, tweeting: "Thank you @WhoopiGoldberg I'd love to sit with you too!"
Tiffany Trump has since Tweeted about the exchange, gladly accepting Goldberg's offer.
