Destiny 2 - Spanish retailer leaks first details, confirms PC version

Posted March 31, 2017

All of the rumors that had been reported for the last couple of weeks turned out to be true. Will you be picking it up when it releases on September 8?

The original Destiny never appeared on PCs, disappointing many gamers and leaving the door open for The Division to try and fill the void (with mixed results). That said, it's nice to see the studio putting more emphasis on storytelling in the Destiny sequel.

Bungie and Activision has announced that Destiny 2 will be out later this year. The broadcast will showcase "a variety of fun, action-oriented activities within Destiny 2, and will highlight the brand-new, epic adventure waiting for players". Granted to the tone is being pulled all over the place on goal, as that's the premise of the spot, but I don't know how I feel about it, and I guess I was hoping for some actual gameplay footage rather than another cinematic.

PC Version Available for Pre-Order in Germany
The confirmation comes in a lone tweet from the Destiny Twitter account, updating their avatar to the Destiny 2 logo. Update: It looks like PlayStation 4 owners will once again get timed-exclusive access to content in Destiny 2 .

According to Activision CEO eric Hirshberg, Destiny 2 will deliver quite a few welcome changes that hopefully take fan feedback into consideration. Speaking of pre-orders, you can get one of five bundles. We've known for a long time that the follow-up would drop support for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but soon we'll be able to see what improvements this has brought about. On a recent earnings call, Activision themselves addressed the elephant in the room when it comes to Destiny's story. The PS4 version of the game will come with "timed" exclusive content through at least Fall 2018. "To know that millions of players around the world have forged lasting Destiny memories and even made it their hobby is truly humbling and we can't wait to continue the journey", Bungie CEO Pete Parsons said in the same press release.

Along with confirming Destiny 2's release date, Bungie also teased a gameplay livestream on May 18 that'll show gameplay from the title. However, if it follows a similar path to the previous game you might expect two betas to arrive with one being a private beta and the other for the general public. For all those who tend to buy the game as early access will have to also pre-order for the Beta.
