Nintendo Reveals Reason Behind NES Classic Departure

Posted April 22, 2017

This news comes after the gaming company announced last week that it would discontinue the recently re-released NES Classic Edition despite high demand since its launch in November. Most have run out of stock for quite some time and chances of seeing them re-stocked could be low. NES Classic Edition was only a cool novelty item that would make a great Christmas 2016 gift.

According to IGN, a representative from Nintendo has stated that the last shipments of Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition systems for this year in NOA territories will be delivered throughout this month. Hence, it may all be an upgrade in a sense, much of which was covered in a separate post. Interestingly enough, the rumours emerge just after Nintendo confirmed that the NES Mini has been discontinued due to production issues. And this time around, the Japanese company may want to factor in some numbers and produce larger volumes of the game console to avoid supply shortages. However, SNES mini brings better software line-up and their own version of popular games from NES Classic edition according to Polygon.

As of this writing, there is no word yet on what games would be included in the mini SNES. This could include stuff like Activision's Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games (which we'd be down to play again in a heartbeat - the classics are still a blast), Capcom's Resident Evil 2, and Natsume's Harvest Moon 64.

Now the Raptors have to hope all those minutes didn't aggravate his ankle with a quick turnaround for Game 3. As for the regular season, the last time it happened to DeRozan was January 19, 2015 - against Milwaukee .

Vintage titles such as Donkey Kong, Metroid, Mega Man 2, Super Mario Bros and its two direct sequels and the first the Legend of Zelda games were part of the package. Regardless, the 16-bit platform housed many classics, and giving people another method to re-experience them is an exciting prospect.

Xbox Scorpio, PlayStation 4 Pro (PS4 Pro) and Nintendo Switch are among the new gen consoles of 2017 that everyone is drooling to buy.
